Ali Pechman covers health for the Medill News Service in Washington D.C. She is a sophomore at Northwestern University pursuing a double-major in magazine journalism and English. Pechman has previously interned for Warner Bros. Records and reported for Northwestern's Chicago-based ImmigrantConnect.org, along with working for the literary journal, fashion magazine and campus weekly at Northwestern. She has  been published in Scholastic's "Best Teen Writing" series and recognized on the Oprah Winfrey Show as a winner of Oprah’s National High School Essay Contest.
