To this point, Luke's experiences could be described as protean. Spinning records for three-and-a-half years at one of the nation's premier student-run radio stations, KJHK Lawrence, including a stint as Jazz Director, he rediscovered his passion for music of all genres. After graduating, Luke used his English degree sparingly, parlaying it into an exciting but ultimately unrewarding job as a high-rise window washer in metro Kansas City. After subsequently spending two-plus years living and working (very) odd jobs in the city where he grew up, Luke decided to put his life-long love of most things journalism and writing to the test.
