Marisa Paulson is a transportation reporter for the Medill News Service. Her primary focus is sustainable transportation (walking, cycling, public transit), although she writes about driving once in a while.
She finds the movement of people in urban areas like Chicago fascinating because she was raised in a sleepy, tiny town in North Dakota. Marisa loves the fact that she hasn't driven a car since she moved to Chicago in June 2011. She relies on the El and her own two feet to get around.
Marisa graduated from Concordia College in May 2011 with a BA in journalism and communication with an emphasis in mass media. She will earn her MS in journalism with a concentration in interactive publishing from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in August 2012.
