Alison Burdo is a business reporter for the Medill News Service. She previously reported on environmental issues affecting the neighborhoods of Rogers Park and Albany Park in Chicago.

Burdo graduated from James Madison University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and will graduate from Northwestern University with a master's degree in broadcast journalism in 2012.

While attending JMU, she independently ran a weekly radio program for WXJM 88.7 FM Harrisonburg. In 2010 she interned with The Nonprofit Quarterly, contributing to the daily newswire, assisting in website production, and fact-checking articles.
