Why vote for Pedro when you can vote for Barack? Or so 18-year-old Carl Garcia thinks. A passionate Democrat and proud Obama supporter, Garcia arrives on the scene at Grant Park in an unusual fashion. On his shoulders he carries a plastic goat with the slogan “Goats for Obama” written on its side.

“I found it in somebody’s yard,” said Garcia, a student at Columbia College. “I was looking for something for my dorm. And my mom thinks it’s possessed.”

Carrying the goat in a crowd chanting Obama’s name, Garcia sheepishly acknowledges his 15 minutes of fame.

“I just want Obama to win,” he said.
