Chicago didn’t let the rainy weather get in the way of celebrating the 41st annual Earth Day. Daley Plaza was the activity hub Friday, including an Earth Day fair sponsored by the Chicago Department of Environment and the Chicago Action Plan team.
Mayor Richard M. Daley and Norma Reyes, Commissioner of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, announced the new Green Taxi program that provides an incentive to the taxi industry. “The City of Chicago is committed to supporting these efforts and providing financial and operational incentives to offset the higher initial cost of these vehicles,” said Reyes.
