Electric cars shine during auto show

Electric car technology is all the rage at this year's Chicago Auto Show. Whether the cars are all electric, plug-in energy efficient, or hybrids of electric-powered batteries and gas- they all leave a smaller carbon footprint than traditional vehicles.

Consumer Reports found that customers favor both the breaking-edge technology of electrics as well as the money they'll save on gas. But customers must pony up more money on the front end to reap the benefits in the long run.
