Since the mid 1800s, open outcry trading has taken place inside the Chicago Board of Trade. Open outcry is the method of communication between a buyer and a seller on the trading floor. It can involve yelling and very complex hand gestures. As traders looked to one-up the competition, fashion has become a financial advantage inside CBOT.
