Northwestern University's women's lacrosse team was honored at Wrigley Field before the Cubs game Wednesday. The team is taking an East Coast sport and giving it a home in the Midwest. Over Memorial Day weekend, the ladies won a seventh national championship in eight years, beating Syracuse 8-6. The team was recognized before the game and team members threw out the first pitch. At the time this story was published the Cubs had beat the Padres to sweep the series with a home run in the 9th inning. The final score, 8-6... the Lady Wildcats must have been good luck.
