A customer enjoys a cup of Liberace's Mom's Blue Ribbon potato soup at the cafe on Higgins Ave. in Chicago.

Mather's--More Than a Cafe has been providing for senior citizens for decades. In the winter months, Mather's offers a promotion, selling soup for the price of the temperature. For the first time in four years -- with temperatures below zero -- the senior cafe paid customers to eat their soup Monday.

Mather's has three cafe locations and is part of Mather Lifeways, a non-profit organization that helps older adults through senior residences, neighborhood initiatives and research.

The soup promotion runs thru February.
