River volunteers clean up the Chicago River

Nearly 4,000 volunteers met at sites along the North and South Branches of the Chicago River Saturday to clear away trash and plant native species. At Canal Origins Park, the volunteers included youth from the local Boys and Girls Club, teenagers from the Chicago Training Center and employees from the Midwest Generation power plants located near the river.
