Members of the Bowling to Veterans Link describe what the organization does

WASHINGTON– An organization called the Bowlers to Veterans Link has been supporting our troops since 1942. They originated as a group of bowlers who wanted to make sure that the public remembered our men and women stationed overseas.

The BVL raised money during WWII to help fund medical evacuation planes to bring home wounded vets. They continued to branch out with their efforts by providing scholarships for children of soldiers who were killed in Operation Desert Storm.

They have raised more than $35 million dollars for active duty troops since their inception and are bowling’s oldest charity.

More recently the BVL has decided to bring the sport they love to military servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. They do this by shipping portable bowling kits to troops overseas so troops can enjoy the sport they love while away from home.
