Sagging market helps first-time buyers

WASHINGTON --The real estate market has seen a downturn in recent months, as has the rest of the economy.

While home sales are stagnant or down in many markets, one group is benefitting from the sagging economy - first-time home buyers.

First-timers lack the baggage of another home to sell, and unlike their counterparts just a year or so ago, they do not have to hastily make bids on homes.
