WASHINGTON -- Capitol Hill was a sea of pink and green Thursday as members of Alpha Kappa Alpha celebrated the sorority's centennial anniversary last week. Also known as AKA, Alpha Kappa Alpha is the nation's oldest black greek sorority, and was founded in Washington in 1908 at Howard University.

As part of the celebration, the women marched to Capitol Hill and presented House Speaker Nanci Pelosi with a resolution pressing Congress for more action in areas concerning the black community such as education, health care and access to better jobs.
