Fighting against sexual assault in the military

Washington -- What's the Department of Defense trying to cover up? This is the question Congress posed to the Department at a recent Congressional hearing on sexual assault in the military. According to a report released at the hearing by the Government Accountability Office, half of all troops who told the GAO they had been sexually assaulted while in the military never reported the incident to the military. But after several high profile sexual assault cases, Congress is demanding that the Pentagon produce answers and put an end to sexual assault within the ranks once and for all. The Pentagon says it's designed a new plan with "an eye toward changing the culture" in the military.
