More than 20 people camped outside Church of Our Saviour in Lincoln Park on Friday night for the fourth annual Sleepout for Homelessness. During the sleepout, participants slept outside in the cold to raise funds for Care For Friends, an organization that provides services for Chicago’s homeless.

Participants also got to experience a taste of the conditions the homeless must face on a daily basis, and the event raised awareness for the homeless population in Lincoln Park that is often overlooked.

Contributions came in the form of pledges on CrowdRise as well as onsite donations. This year the sleepout raised more than $26,000.
