DePaul is the largest Catholic University in the United States. The school’s website says its namesake, Saint Vincent de Paul, believed in “Vincentian personalism,” a belief in dignity for all people, and that de Paul worked toward helping marginalized communities. Jennifer said the school’s incorporation of de Paul’s mission of compassion is somewhat flawed. “It’s kind of like, in theory this is what the school stands for, but there’s still a lot of issues putting them in practice” (Katie Rice/MEDILL)
