In the old parable, the sheep go to heaven; the goats do not. But at Reverse the Kerrs farm in Elgin, the goats are getting closer to nirvana.

Original Goat Yoga  has come to the farm, where 10 baby goats join owner Danielle Kerr’s weekly classes. It’s the first Chicago-area spot to host the novelty yoga experience that began in Oregon and is now in nine locations in the U.S.

“It’s wonderful because it’s a combination of animal-assisted therapy and yoga,” said Kerr.

The 30-minute class is followed by an hour of “goat happy hour,” where guests get to spend time with the goats and take photos.

“People laugh, people get a chance to be silly and let go and have fun,” said Kerr. “Goats are just magical and they have a way of making people feel happy and good about themselves.”
