Students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago are gearing up to unfurl their handmade banners next month for the March for Science Chicago. They gathered for a banner making workshop last week with artist and arts educator Aram Han Sifuentes. The banners are part of an ongoing project Sifuentes holds at the Chicago Cultural Center. The Protest Banner Lending Library is part exhibit and part workshop, started in the wake of the presidential election as an artistic catharsis. The SAIC students came together to make climate justice-themed banners to be used at Earth Day demonstrations on April 22nd.
