The Eagles sent five picks (No. 8, No. 77, No. 100; a first-rounder in 2017; and a second-rounder in 2018) to Cleveland last week for the No. 2 overall selection plus a fourth-round pick.<\/p>\n<div id=\"relatedleft\">\n<h1>Tale of the Tape<\/h1>\n<p><em><strong>Jared Goff<br \/>\nHeight: 6-4<br \/>\nWeight: 215 pounds<br \/>\nAge: 21<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Strengths:<br \/>\n\u2022 Displayed exceptional accuracy and arm strength<br \/>\n\u2022 Showed consistent toughness<br \/>\n\u2022 Produced at a high level despite a weak offensive line at Cal<\/p>\n<p>Weaknesses:<br \/>\n\u2022 Small frame and hands<br \/>\n\u2022 Flashed signs of inconsistency at times, especially against Utah in 2015<br \/>\n\u2022 Not super athletic<\/p>\n<p>Fun Facts:<br \/>\n\u2022 Has a golden retriever puppy named Leo<br \/>\n\u2022 Grew up a fan of Joe Montana and the San Francisco 49ers<br \/>\n\u2022 Dad, Jerry Goff, played for the Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros as a catcher in the 1990s<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Carson Wentz<br \/>\nHeight: 6-5<br \/>\nWeight: 240 pounds<br \/>\nAge: 23<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Strengths:<br \/>\n\u2022 Extremely athletic for his size<br \/>\n\u2022 Big hands<br \/>\n\u2022 Played in a pro-style offense at North Dakota State and was consistently successful, winning two national titles as the starter<\/p>\n<p>Weaknesses:<br \/>\n\u2022 Inconsistent footwork<br \/>\n\u2022 Didn\u2019t consistently face high-level competition<br \/>\n\u2022 Sidelined for eight weeks in 2015 because of a broken wrist<\/p>\n<p>Fun Facts:<br \/>\n\u2022 Grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota<br \/>\n\u2022 Has several tattoos, including one on his wrist that says, \u201cAO1\u201d (Audience of One)<br \/>\n\u2022 Has reportedly never made a \u201cB\u201d in a class<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;You have to be very comfortable with both of those quarterbacks and believe they have a shot to be great, Pro Bowl-caliber,&#8221; Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman said a news conference last week. &#8220;It&#8217;s hard to be great if you don&#8217;t take some risks.&#8221;<br \/>\nIt\u2019s only the fourth time the top two picks have been traded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeams are desperate for quarterbacks,\u201d former Rams safety and current NFL analyst Matt Bowen told Medill Reports. \u201cJared Goff and Carson Wentz aren\u2019t (ready to play in the NFL), in my opinion. They both need time.\u201d<br \/>\nAnd the Rams are certainly one of the most desperate.<\/p>\n<p>They ranked last in the NFL in passing yards (2,805), completion percentage (57.7) and touchdown passes (11) last season.<\/p>\n<p>In an attempt to improve their situation, the Rams parted with a first-round pick (No. 15), two second-round picks (No. 43 and No. 45) and a third-round pick (No. 76) in this year\u2019s draft, along with a first-rounder and third-rounder next year.<\/p>\n<p>Bowen said losing all those picks will hinder L.A.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you throw Carson Wentz in the field on the Rams with not a lot of talent at wide receiver or offensive line, what are you doing?\u201d Bowen said. \u201cWho (are) you throwing to? Who\u2019s blocking for him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rang disagrees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the quarterback selected at No. 1 turns out to be a franchise quarterback,\u201d Rang said, \u201cand by that I mean be a consistent starter who helps this club reach the playoffs, the trade up will have been well worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whichever quarterback the Rams take will have big implications for not just one, but two franchises that finished 7-9 last season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad I don\u2019t have to make that decision,\u201d Bowen said.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>TollyTaylor contributed to this report.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h1>Draft Storylines<\/h1>\n<p><em><strong>Which records will Ohio State break?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ohio State has a deep crop of prospects, including defensive end Joey Bosa, cornerback Eli Apple, linebacker Darron Lee, offensive tackle Taylor Decker and wide receiver Braxton Miller.<\/p>\n<p>NFL analyst Mike Mayock said during the Senior Bowl that the Buckeyes could have \u201cseven or eight guys in the first 50 picks,\u201d which would be historic.<\/p>\n<p>Records Ohio State could break include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Most players selected in the first round, 6 (2004 Miami)<br \/>\n\u2022 Most players selected in the first two rounds, 7 (2000 Tennessee\/2008 USC)<br \/>\n\u2022 Most players taken in a seven-round draft, 14 (2004 Ohio State)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>When will Paxton Lynch be taken?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The top two quarterbacks, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, are basically locks to be picked in some order by Los Angeles and Philadelphia, but that leaves the third quarterback, Paxton Lynch, in an interesting situation.<\/p>\n<p>Several teams are potential suitors for the Memphis product. San Francisco, Cleveland, the New York Jets and Denver are all in the market for quarterbacks, and a few teams with aging passers, namely San Diego and Arizona, could give Lynch a look, as well.<\/p>\n<p>Where Lynch falls will be one of the more dynamic subplots of the first round. ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay still had Coleman, Treadwell and Doctson all going in the first round of his April 21 mock draft.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>How will the trades affect the top of the first round?<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee-L.A. and Cleveland-Philadelphia trades will shake up the first round, assuming the Rams and Eagles select quarterback. Some other potential fallout:<br \/>\n\u2022 Will anyone else move up? Cleveland has shown it\u2019s willing to move back in the draft. Would a team such as the Jets be willing to strike a deal with the Browns if quarterback Paxton Lynch is still available at No. 8?<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil was supposed to be the guy at No. 1 to Tennessee, but will the Chargers snag him at No. 3? How far could he fall?<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assuming L.A. and Philadelphia pick quarterbacks, Jacksonville at No. 5 has a guaranteed shot at one of the top three defensive players (Jalen Ramsey, Joey Bosa or Myles Jack). Who falls to them and whom do they pick?<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Whom do Cleveland and Tennessee take? Both traded back in the first round, but will all those extra picks pay off? Will the Titans, who already have Marcus Mariota at quarterback, regret passing up Tunsil to protect him?
