Chicago\u2019s annual Women\u2019s March proved that the march reaches far beyond women\u2019s issues and women marchers.<\/p>\n

This year, thousands of men, women and children gathered in downtown Chicago and marched their way from Grant Park to Federal Plaza at Clark and Adams streets. Then part of the crowd continued on to Trump Tower.<\/p>\n

The cold and drizzle did not stop the crowd from connecting and chanting out their messages. And, what is worth noticing is that people with signs concerning Donald Trump led the troop at the forefront, focusing on immigration, intolerance and climate change.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At a sign-making event two days before the march, Kelly Jameson of Keeper Designs planned on making three signs \u2013 \u201cClimate Justice,\u201d \u201cNo more lies,\u201d and \u201cAll roads lead to oil.\u201d She has always been an activist on social issues, but \u201cright now it\u2019s really complicated, with Iran and so much shit going on. How can anybody deal with it?\u201d said Jameson.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Jameson has been deciding what to put on the signs for quite some time, and she kept her notes whenever words popped up in mind. \u201cLies came up here a lot,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Diana Rodriguez is a brewer at Goose Island brewery. She works as hard as everybody else in the team but, in a male-dominated workplace, her words are not always taken seriously, she said. \u201cA lot of times, people would ask questions and I would answer them. But then they would look at a guy to reassure him. They just wouldn\u2019t trust my information so much as they would trust men,\u201d she said. \u201cWhy wouldn’t anybody believe what I\u2019m saying?\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This year, she made a sign reads \u201cWomen of the house\u201d to support women empowerment in the White House, the brewery house and private households.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This was the first time that Laura Perez participated in the Women\u2019s March.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing so many people sharing your ideas and what you fight for, it made you feel like you\u2019re not alone,\u201d said Loyola University student Laura Perez.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Perez, who is from Colombia, is a student at Loyola University. Her hometown \u2013 Bogota, Colombia — has elected a female mayor for the first time in history. \u201cThe revolution would be feminist,\u201d said Perez, and she remains hopeful about conquering gender inequality in Colombia in the future.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

With the Chicago Women in Trade\u2019s drumbeat setting the pace, joy and excitement filled the two hours of marching.\u00a0 All kinds of signs moved like a floating newsreel of issues for 2020.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s gonna be a crazy year,\u201d said Cate Prather, a student from Notre Dame University. \u201cPeople who are running right now I really don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n
