These constantly expanding reefs have the most biodiversity \u2014 the number of living species in one place \u2014 of any ecosystem on our planet. They hold up the entire marine food chain, harboring 25% of ocean species,\u00a0according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe you\u2019ve heard that the majority of the reefs have \u201cbleached,\u201d and written them off as a lost cause. But coral reefs are actually one victim of human activity that can be viewed with hope. Unlike most damage, bleaching is reversible \u2014 if we act fast to save coral.
