Harry Osterman, the annual tradition included family-friendly arts and crafts as well as a parade that featured more than 20 different community organizations such as the Vietnamese Association of Illinois and the Chinese Mutual Aid Association.<\/p>\n<p>People of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds came together to join in the four-hour-long celebration despite frigid temperatures and the snowy sidewalks that lined the parade route.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Lunar New Year Parade 2022\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/681093823?h=0050df6b6a&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Transcript:<\/p>\n<p>Narration: The Argyle Lunar New Year celebration welcomed in the Year of the Tiger with a parade and family-friendly activities.<\/p>\n<p>Dating back over 40 years, the festival brings in members from all across the community to celebrate.<\/p>\n<p>For Lanialoha Lee of the Aloha Center of Chicago, the celebration hits close to home.<\/p>\n<p>Lanialoha Lee: The Chinese community up here is very much like our family in the Islands.<\/p>\n<p>Narration: And for others, the Lunar New Year is an opportunity to explore different cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Christine dePedro: We moved here and discovered this neighborhood with all the Southeast Asian people, and I\u2019m drawn to it.<\/p>\n<p>Narration: In addition to the parade, Argyle\u2019s celebration featured family arts and crafts and an opportunity to take in the local art.<\/p>\n<p>The parade route, which wrapped around a large section of Uptown, featured over 20 local community groups and may gain one more next year.<\/p>\n<p>Lee: This is our second time, and the third time I think we\u2019re going to pull out the float and just jam.<\/p>\n<p>And it wouldn\u2019t be a celebration without \u2026<\/p>\n<p>dePedro: The food!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div data-pm-slice=\"1 1 [&quot;ol&quot;,{&quot;style&quot;:null,&quot;start&quot;:null,&quot;backgroundColor&quot;:null,&quot;color&quot;:null,&quot;lineHeight&quot;:null,&quot;listStyleType&quot;:null},&quot;ol&quot;,{&quot;style&quot;:null,&quot;start&quot;:null,&quot;backgroundColor&quot;:null,&quot;color&quot;:null,&quot;lineHeight&quot;:null,&quot;listStyleType&quot;:null},&quot;li&quot;,{&quot;style&quot;:null,&quot;checked&quot;:null,&quot;value&quot;:null,&quot;displayValue&quot;:1,&quot;backgroundColor&quot;:null,&quot;color&quot;:null,&quot;listStyleType&quot;:null}]\" data-en-clipboard=\"true\"><em>Sean Rhomberg is a sports media graduate student at Medill.
