A Medill Sports Production
Day 3 of the NFL Draft brought plenty of rain, but also plenty of picks. The final four rounds were held in Selection Square, located in NFL Draft Town in Grant Park. There, crowds braved the elements to hear more names called and see teams welcome their new additions.
Two former Northwestern players were picked up today. Defensive end Dean Lowry heard his name called by the Green Bay Packers in round four, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers welcomed fullback Danny Vitale in round six.
The Chicago Bears picked up five new players today, after General Manager Ryan Pace made some early round trades to amass several strategic picks.

Some other familiar names that found a new home? Derek Watt, the younger brother of Houston Texans star J.J. Watt, will be trading in his Wisconsin Badgers jersey for a bright blue San Diego Chargers one after being drafted in the sixth round. As always, the spectacle that is the announcement of Mr. Irrelevant, also known as the final pick of the entire draft, occurred and Southern Mississippi cornerback Kalan Reed received a call from the Tennessee Titans.
Stay tuned as Medill Sports releases its 30-minute Draftcast show in the coming days, which will provide a comprehensive recap of all the events from the weekend.
