While much of America was transfixed by last weekend’s pictures of women marching and chanting for human rights across the world, if you looked closer, you saw something perhaps even more extraordinary—men, millions of them, arm in arm and demanding equality.

Photos of the Women’s March on Washington last weekend showed a sea of pink “pussyhats,” a subtle allusion to comments of Trump’s that many found offensive. The march drew more than twice as many people as expected, and crowd scientists from the New York Times estimated that attendance was three times as high as President Trump’s inauguration the previous day.
