In Fire Station #1 on Emerson Street in Evanston, Illinois, every day is a new challenge for the firefighters who work here.
Shifts start at 7 a.m. and last 24 hours.
The call can arrive at any moment, and firefighters are always ready to face situations without fear. The mission is to save lives.
Some days, 9 out of 10 calls are just false alarms, but firefighters treat every call as a major emergency.
They never know what they will encounter.
Sometimes this job can be tough, but the rewards are always priceless. Thanks to the Evanston Fire Department, this short documentary was filmed to show the lives of firefighters and capture their daily routine behind station doors.
