What can you do to help your neighborhood prevent the spread of the coronavirus? Jahmal Cole, the CEO and founder of My Block, My Hood, My City, said, “Let’s take direct action.”

My Block, My Hood, My City, a Chicago based community organization, contacted Senior Viral Response to deliver free care packages to seniors and people with disabilities. “We are giving out hand sanitizers, soap and vitamin C pills,” Cole said.

Stores in Chicago report short supplies of hand sanitizer, but Cole and his team have been able to gather contributions from small convenient stores, corporations and people’s donations.

My Block, My Hood, My City will continue the delivery as long as they have enough supplies. If you want to donate or request a care package, please visit Senior Viral Response’s website for more information.
