In the fifth episode of “Chicago This Week,” we feature a newly formed organization that encourages Chicagoans to write to their representatives using postcards, aiming to make protest more accessible. Plus, May Day demonstrations across the city saw thousands of labor advocates, teachers and students gather to honor International Workers’ Day, including Mayor Brandon Johnson. Take a look at the protests and educational initiatives taken in Chicago to demand working-class rights. 

“Chicago This Week” is an hourlong show featuring news, sports, business and entertainment stories from around Chicago. All the producing, reporting, writing, shooting and editing are done by Medill graduate students. “Chicago This Week” airs on CAN-TV, Ch. 21, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Fridays and 7 p.m. Sundays.
