Local metal recycling plant sparks outrage, incites hunger strike

The Southeast Side of Chicago is already the most industrialized area of the city, and with the closing of General Iron’s scrap metal recycling plant in Lincoln Park and the potential opening of a new site in the Southeast Side, several Chicago residents are putting their health at risk to make their feelings known.
