In the sixth episode of “Chicago This Week,” the city comes together for a fallen police officer who was killed in the line of duty. The city crowns new champions for boys and girls high school lacrosse, and our reporters speak to the winners. And Mayor Brandon Johnson joins thousands of Chicagoans to officially welcome summer by turning on Buckingham Fountain.
“Chicago This Week” is an hourlong show featuring news, sports, business and entertainment stories from around Chicago. All the producing, reporting, writing, shooting and editing are done by Medill graduate students. “Chicago This Week” airs on CAN-TV, Ch. 21, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Fridays and 7 p.m. Sundays.
